Mindfulness in the Mangroves in the Tweed

The water laps the underside of my paddleboard, shushing me like a newborn with a constant pat, pat, pat of current and tide. I lie face up, eyes closed, beneath the dappled shade of the mangroves and focus my breathing. Letting go, I drift like a pinball beneath low-lying leaves. The bird call intensifies; my breathing slows. 

This is wellness travel in 2022 and there’s not a masseuse or juice cleanse in sight.
